As I mentioned, I finally got to go and see Berlin – but not as a plain tourist, I got to work at the Special Olympic World Games 2023 – supporting SO Nicaragua.
Traveling from Berlin to Frankfurt to Darmstadt back to Berlin with the 25 people delegation, we got to know each other and became one team. I love making new friends, especially when they’re from countries I know so little about, but these games really were full of remarkable moments:
A moment I will cherish forever is when I got to train with the SO Nicaragua swim team, what an honor!
Esmeralda helping Sarah during their swimming competition (check google!) was such a pure act that the whole world should take as an example!
Partying at the Brandenburg Gate with roughly 3000 athletes and volunteers: goosebumps!
and of course, I also did some tourism. The most special thing to me was swimming in the 1936 Olympic Pool.
